About Malta
If you are yet to discover the English-speaking Maltese Islands, it’s time to book a trip and visit the small archipelago situated in the heart of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Just a short three-hour flight away, the Maltese Islands are perfect for a beach holiday or city break. The colours of The Maltese Archipelago are breathtaking. Honey-coloured architecture compliments the deepest of Mediterranean blues. Make sure to stroll through the narrow meandering streets of the towns and villages while basking in over 300 days of sunshine a year.
Explore 7,000 years of history yet live passionately in the present. The Island’s scenery and architecture provide a spectacular backdrop to explore megaliths and medieval dungeons; the Maltese Islands are positively mythical. Malta has rightly been described as an open-air museum, boasting over 320 historical monuments and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites; the Megalithic Temples, the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum and the city of Valletta.

About the 4* Grand Hotel Excelsior
The Grand Hotel Excelsior has one of the best settings in the city. It’s located on the seafront, right next to the entrance to Valletta’s time-warp capital. You’ll look out over the glass-like waters of Marsamxett Harbour here, and there’s a sandy beach in front of the resort with a private section for hotel guests. Luxury comes in spades at this place, from the glittering chandeliers and carpeted stairways of the interior to the immaculately manicured gardens outside, which give way to a sea-facing swimming pool. Among the hotel’s swish facilities, there’s a state-of-the-art spa to recharge in, with candlelit cabins for facials, wraps and massages. When it comes to dining, you’ve got great choices. Head for Spice Island to watch chefs expertly cooking up Caribbean and Asian fare at show cooking stations, or Admiral’s Landing for gourmet Mediterranean flavours. Meanwhile, at the Tiki Grill, you can tuck into cooked-to-perfection steaks and seafood. Three atmospheric bars take care of cocktails, including the stylish Yacht Club, which hosts evening entertainment and does a great line of tapas-style platters outside of mealtimes.
