Spectacular coastlines, sugary sand beaches, world-class cultural attractions and distinctive neighbourhoods lined with boutiques and locally-owned restaurants make Sarasota County, Florida a perfect mix of natural beauty and exciting attractions.
Fan-favourite Siesta Key, as its name suggests, is the beach to go for relaxation and rejuvenation. Once you’ve felt the quartz-crystal powdery sand between your toes and experienced the soft waves of the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll understand why Siesta Beach is ranked the #1 Beach in the U.S. in 2020 by TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards™.
Sarasota is known as Florida’s Cultural Coast, and it’s not for nothing. Here you’ll find galleries galore, premium performances, and captivating street art everywhere you go, like the Ringling Museum, the highly praised Sarasota Ballet, and incredible murals dotted around the county.
Visit Mote Marine Aquarium to get to know all about the marine life of the area, from sea otters to manatees and everything in between. Take some time during your stay in The Bay, a conservancy initiative working towards transforming 53 acres of city-owned land into a public park on Sarasota Bay. During your visit, you can get involved with a number of programmes at The Bay, from movie nights and yoga to nature walks and zumba classes! You can find out more and see the full programme list here.
Head down to North Port’s Warm Mineral Springs for a day of relaxation, and getting back to nature. Take a dip in the springs, with a consistent average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius year-round (and rumoured to have the highest mineral contents of any natural spring in the US). Visit the historic buildings in the area, treat yourself to a spa treatment (book in advance to avoid disappointment), and visit the gift shop for a spot of retail therapy!
